Wind Energy. Wind Power. Turbines. It’s hard to pick up a paper or turn on the news now a days without seeing something on the wind industry. Projects in the works, projects being executed, but a lot if it seems to be happening “over there”. “Where is MY wind power?! Why don’t I see these monster turbines on the way out to the coast or up in the mountains?” Well, to be fair North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia have very limited wind resources. VERY limited. Along the coast, once you are just a few miles off of the ocean, the wind resource drops off dramatically. Some coastal portions of the sound are good but it is still limited.
Baker Renewable Energy has been installing Wind Turbines for a number of years, with members of our staff having installed in Virginia, West Virginia, both Carolinas, Georgia, and Texas. We offer data based wind studies as well as deployed anemometer studies. We own our own anemometers, the devices used for measuring wind speed, and have for years. We also have a fantastic record of getting reasonable wind ordinances past with town and county governments that do not have ordinances on record to deal with wind. If you do not have a resource, or it you are trying to place a turbine in a crowded area on a small lot, we are going to have to reconsider, but if you have an ideal site, we can honestly say we have some of the best teams on this coast for getting this done!
